Preorder for the Heroes IV add-on (HOMM4) -- by yPArAH
I recall an interesting fact. Once in January this year we interviewed the producer of Heroes IV. In the interview there was the first allusion of an add-on to this game. Rumors roamed the Net at connect-speed, so it were practically we who caused them.
It looks like they were not groundless. several online shops now offer a preorder of such product, marking the 24 of September as the "you'll-get-it-after-this-point" date. To us it looks very much like preorders of Fallout 3 and Fallout Tactics 2. The real add-on release date is a big secret, of course. Probably the truth will be uncovered during the next expo, while the release will occur sometime near the X-mas sales...

Patched. So soon... (Patches) -- by yPArAH
WarCraft III enters the retail today. Officially. Simultaneously, Blizzard declared the release of the very first patch for it. People were most anxious to hear that, the problem of over-bugged patches once again became the topic under discussion in forums. Well, to have some food for thoughts, here's a patch for you.
I wonder what will happen to QA departments in game development companies as games get more and more complicated? Even now it is damn hard to locate and fix a bug without making a dozen new...

Hmm, it looks like we have found an interview with Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe authors. The developers, according to the interview, are going to make up a version witch will run smoothly on both DirectX 8.1 and Win2k/XP. This is all to build up people's interest in the upcoming H&D 2. One more thing: people of Illusion also mentioned their intention to design a fantasy tactical game, Atlantica.
